Plashet Vs Chelmsford 4

14 - 0

This is was a top versus bottom of the league clash and a somewhat awkward game to sum up, albeit the score line reflects a trouncing of the opposition, it would be unfair to say that Plashet were in any way tested by this Chelmsford side.

For Plashet, this game gave them the chance to tighten up on some of the areas that needed to be improved on in a game situation. From the start of this game it was obvious to see that there was a significant difference between the quality of the teams. None the less, Plashet came out of the traps very quickly and the pattern of the game was stamped in the first 2 minutes of the game. Plashet took full advantage of the mediocre quality of the opposition as they moved the ball around swiftly and exploited the huge gaps in the Chelmsford midfield and defence. It only took 5 minutes before Plashet were ahead, the midfield trio amongst themselves managed to carve the ball through to Ajaypal Singh who neatly dinked the ball over the advancing goalkeeper. As the game went on, Plashet managed to increase their lead significantly, going into half time at 7 nil up, with goals from Inderjeet Singh, Sukhvinder Singh and Sanjeev Sharma.

The second half bought about an extraordinary substitution as their number one goalkeeper came out of goal to play as an outfield player in the centre forward position. Plashet continued the half holding possession and moving the ball around patiently, waiting for opportunities to strike. As if it was written, Amardeep Singh (Plashet’s goalkeeper turned centre forward) opened his goal scoring account as he found himself completely empty in the oppositions penalty area to strike the ball into bottom left hand corner. This game also gave the chance for many of Plashet’s youngsters to get an outing. Sant Singh was involved in the game in abundance, he created many chances for himself and his team mates on several occasions. He also managed to get himself onto the score sheet, after Chelmsford failed to clear a Plashet short corner, the defender was only able to clear the ball into the path of where Sant Singh was waiting, in turn he executed his strike with great venom which went low into the bottom corner of the goal. Endless pressure continued on the Chelmsford goal, and they were unable to trouble the makeshift Plashet goalkeeper at all. Nearing the end of the game, Plashet had managed to score another 5 goals, the final score at 14 nil, with further goals from Sandeep Singh, Himmat Singh and Parvin Singh.
