Plashet Vs Colchester 2

This
week saw Plashet play their first home game of the season. Robert
Clack Leisure Centre in Dagenham welcomed Colchester 2 to Plashet’s
home pitch. With a rather unconvincing win last week, Plashet
hoped to lift their game and impress all critics.
Plashet started the game with real urgency, moving the ball around
like they owned the pitch. The movement was superior, and the
passing was cutting edge. Colchester was finding it very difficult
to gain possession. As soon as they would gain possession, Plashet
would work as a unit, and break down their play. It was simply
a matter of time before Plashet would open their goal scoring
account on their home pitch. 8 minutes into the game, Ajaypal
Singh received a wonderful ball played through by Inderjeet Singh,
and tucked it neatly away beyond the reach of the goalkeeper.
1-0 and Plashet were flying high. Colchester looked shaken, but
little did they know, this was the beginning of a nightmare for
them. 5 minutes later into the game, Parveen Singh, one of the
few older players in the team, latched onto a great through ball,
and buried the ball into the back of the net. 2-0 and now Plashet
were starting to show their true colours.
Colchester created very few chances, and failed to trouble the
Plashet defence. Plashet seemed to be on top of their game, working
the ball around the pitch with pinpoint accuracy. Parveen Singh
soon added to Colchester’s misery, by scoring his second
of the game just before half time. Plashet went into half time
3-0 the better.
The second half started off pretty much the same way as the first,
with Plashet dominating most of the play. The game itself was
very well umpired, and the rhythm of the game was kept alive.
Ajaypal Singh took full advantage of this Plashet pressure, tucking
away another beautiful through ball from Inderjeet Singh, smashing
all Colchester hopes of any kind of revival in the second period.
Colchester looked like a beaten side, but did not give up hope.
They continued to attack the Plashet goal on the rare occasion,
and managed to pull out a few saves from Amardeep Singh in the
Plashet goal.
Plashet looked the more threatening side throughout the game,
and they managed to embarrass Colchester further by adding 4 more
goals to the score sheet, with Ajaypal Singh completing his hat-trick
and Inderjeet Singh also picking up a deserved goal. 8-0 and Plashet
had done enough to top the league table with two out of two wins.
