ELU were a university side with a lot of energy to
burn. The game started of at a quick pace with the main battle for
possession in the middle of the pitch. As the half progressed Plashet
were coming to terms with the pace offered by the university side
and created a number of chances through the likes of Onkar,
Harminder, Randeep who all came close.
Eventually the dead lock was broken by Parveen 'Flymo'
who after receiving a square pass for Verinder in the left hand
channel dribbled past three ELU players and struck the ball
swiftly past the keepers right leg into the net. The second goal
came from a penalty corner- the initial shot was from Sukh and the
rebound fell kindly to Sanjeev who put it into the top left hand
corner of the goal.
ELU refused to sit back even though Plashet
controlled the game and were eventually rewarded with their only
goal of the game at the start of the 2nd half. The youngsters took
the set back in their stride and responded with a third goal
through Sandeep who had received a well executed pass from Sukhraj
in the right had channel and dribbled his way into the goal!!!
Overall it was a good performace from the young
members in the side and the team took the opportunity to welcome
another youngster nicknamed 'DJ' to the team.
