FORDS HOCKEY TOURNAMENT 2007
After a disappointing start to the tournament,
with a shock defeat to Five Rivers, Plashet were not
looking as convincing as they normally do. Their second game looked more organized,
and
Plashet looked a little more awake, securing a point against Mama Milka from
west London.
Plashet faced their friendly rivals Southall in their next game. Plashet played
a more attacking style, as
they needed a win in order to remain in contention for the next round. Plashet
finally over came their goal
drought, and managed to get the win they so badly needed. The final game always
looked like it would
go one way - and Plashet did enough to secure their place in the knock out
round.
The team from Coventry, that had knocked Plashet out of this competition in the
semi-final last year,
was the team that Plashet would face again this year. Plashet knew the team had
amazing talent with
their players from the Punjab, but Plashet put up a brave fight. After conceding
a weak goal, Plashet surged
forward, but failed to get an equalizer. Plashet's campaign ended in the
semi-final at Fords once again.
