Plashet
Vs Harlow 1
5 - 1
Harlow 1
travelled to Robert Clack Leisure Centre in Dagenham this week, to
face Plashet on their home pitch. With a rather disappointing game
with Essex last week, Plashet hoped to lift their game and regain
their confidence and morale.
Plashet started the game off
wanting to get back to winning ways after last weeks shock defeat.
Plashet dominated and dictated the play, this was evident
as they played the ball around the ground with precision looking
to carve the Harlow defence open. After much pressure the
first goal came for Plashet as the centre back, Sandeep Singh ran
through the middle of the pitch to pass to Himmat Singh who slotted
the ball passed the advancing Harlow keeper.
Plashet did not take their foot off the gas as they applied
further pressure and maintained much of the possession, with 10
minutes left of the first half, Gurdeep Singh, Plashet's youngest
player struck the ball home to give Plashet a 2 nil
cushion. There was still time in the first half for another
Plashet goal, Taran Singh; another of Plashet's youngsters neatly
slotted the ball passed the keeper after some intricate build play
from the right hand side. The half time whistle blew,
and this was definitely a half that Plashet did not want to end as
they were in complete control of the game.
Although there was a short interval, Plashet maintained their
hold on the game in the second half and carved out several
chances, with several Plashet players wasting chances and
guilty of being woeful with their shooting. With a
dominating performance in the midfield, Inderjeet Singh showed
some neat stick work that was far too much to handle for the
Harlow defence, 10 minutes into the second half, he managed to
trick his way into the D and make himself some room to strike a
crisp shot which went thundering passed the keepers left glove.
The game was still being dictated by Plashet although there
were some rare ventures by the Harlow forwards into the
Plashet half which the defence were able to deal with comfortably.
More precision passing and movement from the Plashet team
increased their tally to 5 as once again Taran Singh was in the
right place to slide the ball into the empty net after the
Harlow keeper had been committed after an earlier shot on
goal.
With only minutes left on the clock, Plashet awarded Harlow with
an absolute gift as they managed to break down the right channel
and get the ball into area where the solemn Harlow front man was
waiting to score a late consolation goal. Albeit a late goal had
been conceded, Plashet dominated proceeding from the start,
and this was much assistance to a free flowing game the
umpires allowed as they were both tremendous and upheld a friendly
game
