Vs Old Southendian 2

1 - 0
Plashet
kick started their debut in Division 4 East Men’s League
this weekend, with an away game against Old Southendian 2’s.
The Plashet team was missing a few key players for this first
game, but never the less, went out with the mentality to win this
game.
The game started off with some great pressure from Plashet. The
movement was amazing, and the passing was slick. Harminder Singh,
one of the junior players in the side, had the striking responsibility
in this game, and he managed to create space for himself, but
failed to score. Daljeet Singh playing an attacking role from
the midfield also created some spaces, beating opposition players
with tremendous skill, but Plashet could not break the dead lock.
As half time was fast approaching, Plashet continued to put the
pressure on, and by doing so, won them selves a short corner.
Every team wants to go into the half time break a goal up, and
Sukhwinder Singh with a magnificent strike, ensured this for Plashet.
1-0 half time.
The second half began at lightning pace for Old Southendian’s,
with Plashet having to defend deep and hard. Southendian’s
came close on a few occasions, hitting the post twice, but failing
to get at the end of the rebound, allowing Plashet to clear the
ball to safety.
As the full time whistle was fast approaching, Southendian’s
pushed one more time searching for the equaliser. Plashet worked
hard as a team, and defended in numbers, with every player hungry
for the win. The final whistle went, and Plashet had done enough
to seal the 3 points by winning their first league game.
