Plashet Vs Wapping

It was a well earned victory in the summer league on a warm evening. The team consisted of plashet players for the future alongside the more experienced personnel. The young players (to mention a few- Onkar, Harminder, Sukhraj & Navjot etc.) showed great enthusiasm encased with creativity permitting good use of skill & movement. The first half was well poised as Plashet enjoyed the lions share of possession, coming close with attempts from Randeep & Harminder. As the first half went on defensively Plashet became increasingly more comfortable with senior players - Bobby and Sukh distributing the ball comfortably to fellow team players.

The second half started the same way the first one had ended and was also dictated by plashet with the goal arrived after a good close one two between the 'veterans' Pali and Sandz who set up Onkar.Minutes before that Onkar had been illegally brought down by the Wapping keeper and the umpire (tony the lawoo!!! ) waved play on. As time went on Sukhraj becaming an increasing influence down the right hand channel. His energy combined with the hard work of inside forwards - Verinder and Randeep and the right winger- Navjot led to plashet moving closer to the second goal that they deserved. Finally a rebound of the Wapping goal keeper's pads was collected the Onkar who smashed it low past the ever stretching keeper's left foot to seal a two nil win.
